Industrious recruitment is seeking a dynamic and proactive Production Supervisor to join our team in Dunstable. The successful candidate will oversee our Packing Area operations, ensuring that coffee products are packed to the highest quality and safety standards. Key Responsibilities * Supervise and Maintain Standards: Ensure all food safety and health & safety checks are completed accurately and on time, addressing any issues immediately with the Quality Assurance (QA) team. * Team Leadership: Motivate, train, and develop a skilled team to deliver optimal performance. Manage rotas, ensure adequate staffing, and plan for coverage during staff holidays. * Operational Efficiency: Oversee the start-up and shutdown of production lines, ensuring adherence to production plans and spotting opportunities for continuous improvement. * Compliance and Quality Assurance: Maintain Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and ensure 100% compliance with product specifications to meet customer and external audit requirements (e.g., BRC). * Communication and Reporting: Manage data collection systems, ensure timely communication across departments, and keep up-to-date documentation. Respond to emails and queries promptly. * Cost Management: Control costs, yields, and giveaway within the Packing Department, ensuring operations run efficiently within budget constraints. * Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams within Cafea UK and the broader Cafea Group to contribute ideas, share knowledge, and support the business’s growth and success. Shift Patterns * Week 1 & 2: 5:30am to 2:00pm (Monday to Friday) – £16.01/hour * Week 3: 1:30pm to 12:00am (Monday to Thursday) – £18.09/hour (inclusive of a shift premium) Essential Skills & Experience * Computer literate * Strong planning and problem-solving abilities * Excellent communication skills Desirable Skills & Experience * Experience with BRC and customer audit requirements * Knowledge of SAO software * Experience in Lean manufacturing techniques * Familiarity with stock control systems This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in a well-established production environment.
