We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Forensic Electrical Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for investigating electrical failures, accidents, and other incidents to determine the root cause. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, as well as the ability to analyse complex systems and communicate findings effectively. Key Responsibilities Conduct detailed investigations into electrical failures, fires, explosions, and other incidents involving electrical systems and components. Perform on-site inspections, collect evidence, and document findings. Analyse electrical systems, wiring diagrams, and component functionality to determine the cause of failure or malfunction. Collaborate with other forensic experts, including mechanical engineers, fire investigators, loss adjusters and legal professionals, to provide comprehensive reports. Prepare detailed forensic reports, including diagrams, photographs, and data analysis, that clearly communicate findings to non-technical audiences. Provide expert testimony in legal proceedings as required. explaining complex concepts in an understandable manner. Stay updated on industry standards, codes, and regulations related to electrical systems and safety. Travel to incident sites and client meetings as necessary. About you - Knowledge & Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. CEng with IEE preferred, or a willingness to work towards Chartered status. Extensive experience in electrical engineering and in a forensic or investigative role. Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulations. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Willingness to travel, sometimes on short notice, including overnight and overseas trips.
