The Role: As the Payroll and Pensions Officer, you will take ownership of managing the entire payroll function for both permanent staff and casual workers. This sole role requires someone who thrives in a position of responsibility and autonomy, ensuring the smooth running of payroll and pensions with a high level of accuracy and confidentiality. Key Responsibilities: Processing monthly payroll for permanent and casual workers Administrating the LGPS and Teachers Pension Schemes Managing payroll adjustments, tax calculations and statutory payments Keeping up to date with payroll legislation, compliance and college specific policies Providing accurate reports and liasing with key stakeholders, including HR and Finance Experience: Proven experience in payroll, ideally within an education setting or a similar structured organisation Ability to work independelty ensuring that all deadlines are met Strong knowledge of payroll software, pensions administration and UK payroll legislation Excellent organisational and communication skills with a high degree of attention to detail A proactive approach to problem solving and process improvements This is a part time, permanent role - offering flexibility for the right candidate to balance work with other commitments while contributing to the ongoing success of the payroll and HR department.
