SEND Teaching Assistant Contract Type: Permanent Working Hours: Full-time 8:30am to 3:30pm Available Positions: 2 Salary: £18,500 - £23,00 per annum About the school A 'good' school located on the outskirts of Oldham. Main Responsibilities Support and Assistance - Support and assist both the SEN teacher and the students with special educational needs, working under the guidance and direction of the teacher. One-to-One Support - Work closely with individual students during classroom activities, while reinforcing instructions given by the teacher. Inclusion and Differentiation - Differentiate the learning materials and methods to meet the specific needs of each student. Behaviour Management - Assist with behaviour management strategies, helping students with special needs to remain on task and not become distracted. Communicate - Communicate with parents/guardians, providing updates on progress, and ensuring consistency between home and school environments.Requirements Have previous experience working with children with special educational needs. Have a good understanding of different types of special educational needs. Be patient and empathise with the student. Be adaptable and flexible as certain situations might cause you to make changes with little notice.
