Planning Engineer
Your new company A leading Civil Engineering contractor based in Suffolk, but operating throughout the UK. They deliver high-quality civil engineering projects in various sectors including highways, bridges, infrastructure, flood defence, energy, and rail.
Your new role
Our Planning Engineers utilise their site experience to support the pre-contract tender team by addressing engineering challenges, planning effective construction methods, developing scheme programs, and assisting with bid writing. Ideal candidates will have extensive experience on civil engineering sites, possess at least an HNC in civil engineering, and be comfortable working collaboratively. Familiarity with programming software like Asta or Microsoft Project is preferred, though training can be provided.
What you'll need to succeed

  • Offer guidance and support in planning, programming, construction methods, and engineering problem-solving.
  • Ensure all programs and supporting documents adhere to the specific constraints of each scheme.
  • During tender planning, consider and discuss all possible alternative methods and strategies with the tender team.
  • Assist in preparing supporting documents for each tender submission as needed.
  • Collaborate in reviewing subcontracted design work for buildability and tender compliance, consulting the Technical Manager when necessary.
  • Stay informed about industry developments, innovations, and legislation.
