The Job Title: Project Planning Engineer
Details of duties:
•\tSkilled in the use of company cornerstone systems and able to represent cost data formats necessary to control the project.
•\tUnderstands financial terminology and measures and recognizes the financial impact of various project actions.
•\tParticipates in analysing and using financial data to identify key project issues.
•\tKnowledgeable of accounting principles with extensive understanding of the way the company establishes and documents the financial position.
•\tPrepares analysis of progress trends and cost impact. May participate in reviewing and approving contractor invoices.
•\tEvaluates manpower, labour hour, and labour cost requirements versus budget limitations including preparation of variance analysis.
•\tCompares actual cost to funding limitations. Prepares expenditure forecasts to identify critical points in project funding.
•\tReviews purchase order and subcontract commitments and expenditures. Maintains tracking database to ensure that subcontractor funding is aligned with work authorisation and expenditures.
•\tUnderstands the way profits on projects are budgeted and the extent to which the budget value is achieved.
•\tPossesses the knowledge of scope control and change management. Involved in the tracking system to ensure that project management is fully aware of detailed change order status.
•\tFamiliar with basic cost/schedule integration and basic critical path analysis and other rescheduling concepts.
•\tConducts or assists in performance measurement and associated cost trending.

Salary: Up to £40,500 per annum
Details of the skill, experience and qualifications required for the post on offer:
•\tProven experience and excellent working knowledge gained in a multi-discipline project environment in Cost Control or Planning & Scheduling.
•\tExperience in the implementation of Earned Value Management based Project Control systems, in accordance with relevant national standards.
•\tPractical ability to utilise critical project management concepts (e.g., EVM, project planning, risk analysis, configuration management.
•\tProficient in MS Office, Primavera P6, MS Project or other Planning software and PowerBI.
•\tFlexibility to travel and work in different sectors.
•\tGood people management and task facilitation skills.
•\tTechnical professional with extensive project controls experience.
•\tKnowledge of engineering and construction management.
•\tWorking knowledge of current methodologies and tools related to managing projects.
