Our client, a leader within Engineering and Manufacturing, is seeking an experienced Logistics Compliance Manager with a strong focus on compliance to join their dynamic team. This role will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring adherence to customs legislation, tariff codes, HMRC regulations, and international trade laws, particularly related to import and export activities. What will you be spearheading as the Logistics Compliance Manager?
  • Manage and ensure compliance with all customs regulations, including import and export laws.
  • Oversee the accurate classification of goods using tariff codes.
  • Liaise with HMRC and other relevant authorities on compliance matters.
  • Stay up-to-date with international trade legislation, ensuring that all processes align with current laws.
  • Work closely with internal teams to optimize logistics operations while maintaining compliance.
  • Conduct audits and implement improvements to reduce the risk of non-compliance.
  • Provide expert advice on customs documentation, duty relief schemes, and trade facilitation.

What do you need to be able to demonstrate to be considered?
  • Proven experience in logistics management with a strong compliance focus.
  • In-depth knowledge of lean principles, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement methodologies.
  • In-depth knowledge of customs legislation, import/export regulations, and tariff codes.
  • Experience dealing with HMRC and understanding of UK trade laws.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage complex regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with both internal teams and external authorities.
  • Strong proficiency in logistics management software, ERP systems, and data analysis tools, including Power BI for reporting and insights
