Job Title: Specialist Adult Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) – Band 6 EquivalentSalary: £40,000 - £50,000 pro-rata (depending on experience) OR £50-£65 per hour if employed on an associate basisLocation: Nottinghamshire and surrounding areasContract Type: Full-time / Part-timeWe are seeking an experienced and skilled Specialist Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) to join our team, providing high-quality assessment and intervention services, primarily to clients with brain injuries. You will work closely with clients in their own homes, supporting their rehabilitation and improving both communication and swallowing abilities. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated SLT with at least 5 years of experience or equivalent Band 6 experience, who is looking to contribute to a dedicated multidisciplinary team (MDT).Key Responsibilities:Assessment and Intervention:Conduct in-depth assessments for both communication difficulties and dysphagia. Provide tailored interventions that meet the specific needs of each client, with a focus on individuals with acquired brain injuries.Client-Centred Care:Work closely with clients in their own homes, creating and implementing individualized treatment plans. Set clear goals and provide intensive support throughout their rehabilitation journey.Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) Collaboration:Collaborate as part of an MDT, working transdisciplinarily with other health professionals such as physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and psychologists to ensure comprehensive care for each client.Report Writing and Documentation:Maintain accurate and thorough documentation, including clinical notes, progress reports, treatment plans, and goal-setting documents. Provide clear and professional reports for internal use and external stakeholders when needed.Goal Setting and Review:Work closely with clients and their families to set achievable, meaningful goals, regularly reviewing and adapting therapy plans as progress is made.Dysphagia Management:Conduct swallowing assessments and provide effective management strategies for clients with dysphagia, ensuring their safety and comfort during mealtimes.Driving and Home Visits:Conduct regular home visits across Nottinghamshire and surrounding areas, delivering therapy directly to clients in their living environments. A full UK driving license and access to a vehicle are essential for this role.Key Skills & Experience:Minimum of 5 Years’ Experience:A proven track record as an SLT, ideally with experience equivalent to Band 6 or higher.
