Class 2f Building Control Surveyor

MMP Consultancy is seeking a Class 2f Building Control Surveyor and Building Control Surveyor to take responsibility for the regulation and compliance of building projects, from scheme appraisal to site inspection on behalf of a Local Authority based in Bedfordshire. This is a 3-month initial temporary contract subject to likely to extension. The rate of pay is £53ph over a 37 hour working week, Monday to Friday 8am - 5pm. Your Role: * Oversee Building Control projects from conception to completion, ensuring compliance with health, safety, sustainability, energy, and accessibility regulations. * Act as a technical expert, negotiating complex solutions and providing advice on Building Regulations to clients, partners, and internal teams. * Represent the Council as an expert witness in enforcement actions related to Building Regulations. * Commission the use of structural and fire safety specialists on complex projects. * Support and guide less senior officers and administrative staff to ensure high service standards. Required Qualifications and Skills: * Membership of Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE) is essential. * Class 2f BSI registration * Extensive experience in managing Building Control projects, including negotiating technical solutions and collaborating with specialists on complex issues. * Ability to act as an expert witness and provide clear, technical advice to stakeholders. * Proven ability to mentor and support junior officers and administrative staff
