SEMH Teacher (full time) Wigan £700 - £900 per week (salary is dependent on experience and/or qualifications) Start date: October 2024

The School and Role A specialist primary school in Wigan are looking for an SEMH Teacher dedicated to making a positive impact on the education and social skills of children with social, emotional and mental health needs. The SEMH Teacher role will involve implementing the National Curriculum at Key Stage 1 and 2 and responding to the pastoral needs of the pupils in a caring and empathetic manner. They have a supportive staff team who effectively share expertise, skills and knowledge and promote an ethos of disciplined behaviour to ensure effective learning. The school are open to teachers from a variety of curriculum subject backgrounds.

Requirements The desired SEMH Teacher will:

Possess the desire to develop and deliver an adapted curriculum suited to excluded pupils and those at risk of exclusion. Understand the communication skills required to teach children with barriers to learning and who may be disengaged with education. Demonstrate an ongoing commitment to inclusive education practices and ensuring equal opportunities for all students regardless of their background.
