We have an exciting new opening for a Energy & Environmental Officer at the Felinfach, near Lampeter site. This position is pivotal in providing fundamental administrative support by developing, implementing, and maintaining the Environmental culture at Felinfach. The role is responsible for ensuring a safe working environment for all employees while minimising operational risk.

Energy & Environmental Officer
We are looking for a motivated individual to become our client s Energy and Environment Officer, focusing on compliance with environmental regulations and promoting energy efficiency on-site.

Key Responsibilities:
Environmental Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with UK environmental legislation and act as the 'authorised person' for environmental and energy-related matters.
  • Maintain an ISO 14001-compliant Environmental Management System and lead external audits.
  • Oversee environmental site inspections, audits, and risk assessments, ensuring timely implementation of corrective actions.
  • Manage safe disposal of hazardous substances and legal waste streams.
  • Lead initiatives to reduce water consumption and improve wastewater treatment.
Energy Management:
  • Monitor energy data for compliance with schemes like UKETS/CCA/CHPQA/FITS and identify improvement areas to reduce consumption and costs.
  • Ensure energy considerations are included in audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
  • Collaborate with management and engineering teams to develop energy management strategies.
  • Maintain an ISO 50000-compliant energy management system and lead audits.
General Duties:
  • Report on energy usage, environmental performance, and sustainability metrics.
  • Deliver training on environmental compliance, sustainability, and energy conservation.
  • Promote waste reduction, recycling, and reuse initiatives.
  • Act as the main contact for regulatory bodies and stakeholders regarding environmental and energy matters.
What we need from you;
  • Minimum IEMA Foundation Certificate in Environmental Management or similar.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills with 3+ years of experience in manufacturing or heavy industry.
  • Willingness to pursue further training and gain professional accreditations
  • You will live within commutable distance of the site at Felinfach or be in the process of relocating to the area.
