Company Profile:
The worlds largest manufacturer of Injection Moulded products and their family of brands who develop safe, sustainable, and efficient solutions through a range of engineered and innovative products for plumbing and heating, smart homes, and specialist industries around the world, are now looking for an experienced Injection Mould Technician.
Job Overview:
As the successful Injection Mould Technician, your primary function will be developing stable, repeatable, and optimized injection moulding processes for tooling and materials, ensuring products run within quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot molding processes and material or equipment issues.
  • Create and maintain troubleshooting guide in moulding.
  • Define the optimized injection moulding process to ensure H&S, process capability, quality and efficiency targets are met.
  • Evaluate tooling for areas of concern, areas of improvement for quality and efficiency, and recommend improvements to optimize molding, setup, and overall manufacturing processes.
  • Document and maintain moulding process packs.
  • Provide training and guidance to colleagues to achieve business objectives.
  • Resolve process concerns, working with stakeholders (e.g. Continuous Improvement, Project Management, Tool Development, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality and Production) to ensure root causes are identified and permanent corrective actions are implemented to resolve issues.
  • Analyze manufacturing processes, identifying improvements and report recommendations to management including decision-making information such as product/process performance, cost/benefit analysis and future requirements.
  • Conduct trials for new materials ensuring suitability with existing tooling and equipment.
  • Promote fact-based decision-making, ensuring root causes are identified and robust solutions implemented to resolve issues.
  • Initiate & manage process improvement teams to resolve issues using techniques such as 5 Whys, Ishikawa & 8D.
  • Keep up-to-date with specifications, technology and manufacturing processes
  • Comply with all current work instructions within the organization.
  • Comply fully with all current HSE regulations in operation within the company whilst carrying out your duties.
  • Carry out any reasonable task which falls within your capabilities.

Skills & Experience:

  • A proven track record of process development within the plastics industry.
  • A wide experience of engineering polymers across a range of industries.
  • Use of process optimization and Process Capability studies.

Qualification / Education:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in injection moulding in a high-volume manufacturing operation
  • NVQ Level 3- Injection Moulding
  • The ideal candidate would have experience in commissioning and developing new tooling and processes.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Able to prioritize workload as per departmental requirements.
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively across different stakeholders.

Hours of Work:

  • Monday to Friday, 7.00am to 3.30pm
