Electrical Design Engineer

Design Engineer (Protection)

Location: Multiple locations (UK)

Salary: £50-£65K

Responsibilities:

• Creation of Primary Connections and Protection drawings
• Creation of AutoCAD schematics
• Design of control and protection schemes for HV substations
• Power systems research in pertinent applications
• Protection settings calculation
• Experience designing substations at 11 kV, 33 kV, 66 kV, or 132 kV
• Being aware of the electrical components of substations, power supply, and cabling/overhead line installations from low voltage to 132 kV.

Requirements / Knowledge:

• Requirements of the National Electricity Registration Scheme (NERS) and the Electricity Network Regulations
• DNO or Grid code for security configurations
• The electrical industry's Health, Safety, and Environment (HS&E) regulations
• HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent in electrical/electronic engineering or physics
• Incorporated Engineer/member of the IET/Chartered Engineer
