Electrical Engineer Location: Peterborough Salary: Competitive, based on experience Job Type: Full-time Are you a proactive and safety-focused Electrical Engineer looking to work in a dynamic and fast-paced manufacturing environment? Join our team in Peterborough, where you'll play a key role in maintaining, repairing, and optimizing cutting-edge equipment. Key Responsibilities: Electrical Maintenance Carry out electrical maintenance work, ensuring compliance with safety legislation. Maintain and update electrical programs, ensuring current and accurate information. Perform statutory inspections, testing procedures, and safety inspections as per schedule. Assist with plant instrumentation servicing and calibration, ensuring full compliance with regulations. Support manufacturing departments across the facility as needed. Fault Finding & Repair Diagnose and rectify electrical faults using logical fault-finding techniques and equipment. Collaborate with production teams to minimize downtime and ensure equipment is back in operation quickly and safely. Perform repairs and maintenance on unit spares for the manufacturing process. Installation & Modification Commission and install new equipment alongside project teams, contractors, and suppliers. Design circuit diagrams using CAD and write relevant PLC programs. Recommend and implement improvements to production lines and equipment. Performance Analysis Analyse line performance to optimize speed, temperature, and product flow. Implement improvements and ensure all modifications are recorded accurately. Required Qualifications & Skills: Level 3 Apprenticeship (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronic Engineering (with electrical bias). Strong commitment to Health and Safety standards. Positive attitude and a drive for continuous improvement. Beneficial Qualifications & Experience: HNC (Level 4) in Electrical Engineering or related field.
