This is a rare, entry-level opportunity to join Hachette UK division Piatkus Constable Robinson and work across two exciting imprints.

PCR Fiction is made of up two imprints: Piatkus Fiction, which specialises in romance and won Imprint of the Year at this year's British Book Awards and Constable Crime, home of multiple Sunday Times bestselling crime authors. We publish an exceptional range of commercial fiction, from Rebecca Yarros to Nora Roberts, MW Craven to Julia Quinn, and are a friendly, creative team who welcome input at all levels.

What you'll be doing

  • The position offers the opportunity to work on two bestselling, high-volume and profitable lists
  • You will provide administrative and organisational support and assist in the smooth running of the editorial department
  • This role will work on a wide variety of commercial genre fiction, with a focus on bestselling crime and romance, within a friendly and collaborative team and training in the skills essential for a career as an editor
  • There will be on-the-job training in any systems and processes you are not familiar with.

Who we are looking for

  • This is an entry-level position, perfect for someone enthusiastic and organised who wants to get started in fiction publishing
  • Highly organised, efficient, proactive and able to work as part of a large team
  • Excellent administrative and IT skills (Windows and Excel)
  • A strong interest in commercial publishing and impeccable spelling and grammar
  • Meticulous eye for detail
  • Good communication skills
  • The ability to manage your time; prioritise and work well under pressure.

The role will be based at our London office, Carmelite House, with a blend of in-office (3 days) and homeworking (2 days) per week.
