Engineering Technician

Randstad Construction & Property are working on behalf of a National Facilities Management company to find an experienced and collaborative Engineering Technician to join their team in Dumfries. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out PPMs and reactive maintenance across the site. Location: Dumfries (Static) Salary: Competitive (up to £37,000 depending on experience) Employment type: Full-time, permanent, Monday-Friday Key benefits: Annual holidays Employer pension (including bank holidays) Company sick pay Cycle to work scheme Overtime rates Flexible working consideredAn average day will include the following: Help with the operation and control of building fabric/ engineering planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schemes. Ensuring all safety measures to prevent danger, avoid injury and prevent damage to equipment are fully implented. Undertake essential repair works, planned preventative maintenance, calibration and fault diagnostics at the request of Senior Technician to building and engineering assets. Understand the complete working of the mechanical, electrical and electronic systems particularly as they relate to this unit i.e. lifts, refrigeration, boiler plant, air handling units, fire alarm systems, computer systems, control theory, practical and application, building fabric (fire doors, safety glazing, window restrictors, locks).An ideal candidate will have: Completed City and Guilds /NVQ or equivalent in Engineering or Electrical apprenticeship. BTEC / ONC in engineering/ building services and/ or five years' experience in engineering/ building craftsperson role preferably in a Healthcare environment.
