We are looking for a clinical psychologist in eating disorders.At the heart of our approach is a commitment to working collaboratively; providing expert, evidence-based and innovative treatment with kindness and compassion at its core.Role Overview:As part of a multi-disciplinary team, the post holder will have responsibility for the assessment and provision of Orri client’s therapeutic needs. Responsible for the development and evaluation of therapeutic interventions and psychology, they will deliver relevant forms of therapy in partnership with clients, carers and other professionals in line with agreed standards and clinical polices.The post holder will contribute to the delivery of the daily Orri therapy programme and they will be expected to be closely involved in discharge planning. The post holder will work with clients using evidence based and client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions, which provide clients with the confidence, skills and coping strategies required for independent living.Main Duties: Develop and maintain effective working alliances with clients and their families. Provide specialist psychological assessments of clients to the team, based upon the appropriate use, interpretation and integration of data from a variety of sources, including psychological tests, self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews with clients, family members and others involved in the clients care. To exercise autonomous professional responsibility for the formulation and implementation of plans for the formal psychological treatment and/or management of a client’s mental health. Responsible for implementing a range of psychological interventions for individuals and groups. Have knowledge of a range of psychological models. Form professional relationships with members of the MDT and work alongside other professionals to deliver therapeutic interventions to the young people and families. Support the client and their family when transitioning to other services and work alongside other professionals within and outside of the service. Attend regular clinical professional supervision at Orri and, where appropriate, other senior professional colleagues. Initiating and developing new ideas to improve service user care and service delivery. Develop and deliver training. This training may be for students or colleagues form other disciplines.Desired Skills and Expertise: Hold a post-graduate doctorate in clinical psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996 or those in lateral transfer) as accredited by the BPS & have eligibility for chartered status with the BPS. Ideally a minimum of 2 years post qualification with experience of delivering individual and group therapies. Previous post registration experience of working with clients with eating disorder. Maintains professional portfolio for CPD recording learning outcomes through participation in internal and external development opportunities. Demonstrates the ability to critically evaluate current research and apply to practice. Review and reflect on own practice and performance through effective use of professional and operational supervision and appraisal. Identify own learning needs and highlight with supervisor and Clinical manager. Highly developed communication and negotiation skills.
