Interior Designer

Amara Hammond operate in a niche space within the care home sector, designing and delivering innovative spaces, particularly around full refurbs and covering everything from space planning to floorcoverings, soft furnishings, artwork, and lighting. There are unique challenges associated with the care sector, therefore you must be flexible and open minded in your approach to design solutions – ultimately ensuring every home is a home for all.Based in East Kilbride, just outside Glasgow with easy motorway access and plenty of free on-site parking we are looking for someone who can add real value as we build on the last 4 years success and the high level of growth that we have been achieving. If your experience is already in the care sector, then we would consider making this a remote role for the right candidate.What are we looking for in an Interior Designer?· Someone who can work supportively as part of a close-knit team· Someone who is outgoing and willing to engage positively with both prospective and existing clients· A design professional who can turn ideas into reality· A flair for end-to-end design whilst adhering to legislative requirements within the care sector· Someone willing to learn and willing to share; being 'solutions driven' is one of our core principles· Someone who buys into the vision for growth and can work within the team to achieve the company’s goals and objectives· A real desire to make a difference to people’s lives by delivering stable, secure spaces in the care sector· Ability to support with the delivery and project management of the design once approved by the client· Experience in Sketch-up and AutoCAD· Ability to render Sketch-up designs in Enscape or VRay· Experience with creating technical drawings for bespoke fitted and standalone furniture· Experience with creating floorplans for building warrants is beneficial, but not crucialThis new role provides a rare opportunity to truly be part of the growth and direction of a small design consultancy, a place where your ideas will be listened to and your experience respected.Amara Hammond have strong personal and business values and wish a like minded person to be part of their journey, naturally you will be customer centric with superb accuracy and a keen eye for detail.Their work covers the whole of the UK and the role will involve face to face meetings with clients as well as on site meetings to monitor progress, thus you must be comfortable with travel with occasional overnight stays.Whilst beneficial, Care Home experience is not essential as the owners will provide everything that is needed in that respect, but applicants must have commercial design experience in a related area such as interiors for hotels, restaurants, education or high-end residential.Salary is negotiable and will be based on the value you can bring to the role, and it is likely to be in the £30,000 to £40,000 band; there is also the possibility of a performance related bonus.The role requires applicants to have full ongoing rights to work in the UK and there is no visa or sponsorship opportunity.
