Job description Full-Time, PermanentA brand-new tutor support role has been developed within the Council's Adult and Community Learning team.The function of the team is to provide courses for vulnerable adults with few or no formal qualifications and/or those facing multiple barriers in life. Our learners can include those with mental and physical health challenges, communities including refugees with English as a second language, individuals in addiction recovery, and others with complex needs. These learners often have multiple needs and can live chaotic lives which requires a dynamic and responsive working style.We help build confidence whilst developing skills and knowledge so our learners can progress towards further education and work. We have high aspirations for those we work with, providing courses specifically designed to meet their needs.In May this year we were once again graded as "Good" overall by Ofsted including an Outstanding for "Behaviour and Attitudes" which is the cornerstone of our curriculum. However, we are always looking for ways to improve our delivery and this role will be pivotal in supporting tutors, LSAs and volunteers to develop and share their good practice further. Therefore, part of the role will include the development and planning of "deep dive" activities, coaching, training, action research projects and peer support activities. You will use your expertise with accreditation to support tutors with portfolio building and help manage the internal and external verification processes. Responsibility for HR activities such as recruitment, timesheet completion, leave requirements and performance reviews will also form part of the role. You will need to be a good motivator, able to inspire and bring out the best in people so that they can realise their full potential. Whilst you will be part of a team much of your work will be independent, you therefore need to be highly motivated, organised, and able to manage your own time efficiently.Adult and Community Learning is a vibrant team who are passionate about education and the role it can play in enabling disadvantaged adults to achieve.
