Role: Pastoral Lead Location: Wolverhamton Type: Permanent Salary: 30,000 t0 35,000 p.a Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pastoral Lead to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the pastoral care and support of students, particularly those with behavioural needs, Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges, and youth offenders. The Pastoral Lead will work collaboratively with staff, students, parents, and external agencies to create a supportive and inclusive educational environment that promotes the well-being and academic success of all students. Key Responsibilities: * Lead and manage the pastoral care team, ensuring the provision of high-quality support for students with behavioural and SEMH needs. * Develop and implement individualized support plans for students, focusing on rehabilitation and reintegration for youth offenders and re-offenders. * Build strong, trusting relationships with students to provide effective guidance and support. * Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to create a holistic support network for students. * Conduct regular one-on-one sessions with students to monitor progress and address any concerns. * Organize and facilitate workshops and training sessions on topics such as emotional resilience, conflict resolution, and positive behaviour management. * Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with safeguarding policies and procedures. * Conduct risk assessments and implement appropriate interventions to ensure student safety and well-being. * Promote a positive school culture that values diversity, inclusion, and respect for all individuals. Qualifications and Experience: * Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred). * Extensive experience in pastoral care, particularly with youth offenders, students with behavioural needs, and those with SEMH challenges. * Strong understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Proven ability to build rapport and trust with students, staff, and external stakeholders. * Experience in conflict resolution and crisis management. * Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and lead effectively. * Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with best practices in pastoral care.
