We are working with a company wholly owned by a local authority to deliver responsive repairs, maintenance and refurbishments to the 16,000 council homes across Hounslow. A new Director of Repairs and Maintenance is needed to provide strategic leadership and operational management to the repairs and maintenance team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality best in class service for all customers. With ambitious growth plans and a desire to be a market leader it is an ideal time to join a dynamic team that will offer the right candidate with opportunities to work on exciting and challenging projects.
The role involves:
- Leading and managing the repairs and maintenance team
- Overseeing all responsive, planned, cyclical and day-to-day maintenance and void repairs
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and best practice
- Developing and implementing strategies to enhance service delivery and customer satisfaction, maintain property standards, and achieve value for money
- Working closely with the Executive team to drive forward improvements, ensuring KPIs are met and supporting the organisation's strategic objectives
You will need:
- A relevant housing qualification and full membership of a relevant professional institution e.g. RICS, CIoH
- Substantial experience in social housing residential property maintenance and management, legal compliance and health and safety legislation
- Demonstrable commercial experience, expertise, and acumen
- Experience relevant to in house maintenance teams and Local Authority trading companies
- Demonstrable experience leading a customer first team and processes.
- Experience of leading, motivating and managing multi-disciplinary teams
- Excellent communication skills and ability to deliver innovative solutions whilst maintaining continuity of services
- Experience of leading and motivating teams with a customer centric approach
- The desire, experience and ability to work independently and report to the executive team
- Ideally with experience of working in a similar for profit arm of a local authority or within a housing association
