Mechanical Technician

Rhino Recruitment is working with a fantastic company in Newport, they are looking for a Mechanical Technician with a chemicals background and ideally power stations, Reporting to the Newport site Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor, you will support the site maintenance effort carrying out typical maintenance activities including repair and inspection of pumps, vessels, rotating equipment, pipe breaking and pipe fitting. You will utilize machine shop skills such as lathes, drills and milling equipment in your daily activities. The ideal candidate will have achieved a time served qualification (i.e. an apprenticeship) in a relevant discipline, ideally Mechanical Engineering. Be capable of working alone under their own initiative or effectively as part of a team. Have a flexible approach with regard to changing priorities in a busy work environment. Be safety conscious. Starting salary of £39,200.00 per annum. Additional Hours payment of £2,900.80 per annum. On call and call out payments. Contributory pension up to 9% employers’ contributions.
