Company Description: Habitat Assessment & Restoration Ltd (HAR) is a young and fast growing ecological consultancy based out of Edinburgh. HAR is dedicated to conserving seabirds and restoring their habitats throughout the British Isles and beyond. With a highly skilled and experienced team, we have taken on the challenge of addressing some of the greatest problems faced by seabirds, including the harmful impact of invasive predatory species. By implementing innovative techniques to restore seabird habitat and creating partnerships with the renewable energy sector, local, national, and international institutions and businesses, HAR contributes to a positive future where seabird populations and their marine and land ecosystems can thrive. Description of roles: In collaboration with your ecology colleagues and other environmental and health and safety disciplines, these new roles will support a variety of multi-disciplinary projects, with a key focus on ecological, ornithological and invasive species surveys, managing field data, writing technical reports, restoring habitat and long-term monitoring of ecosystem recovery. These can be full-time or flexible roles. You will be joining a small team with big prospects for growth across multiple ecological restoration projects, where you will be given the opportunity to develop your career and help shape the future of HAR. The roles will be home based, and therefore location is not an issue. They will be well remunerated and will require plenty of interesting travel and field work around the UK, its offshore islands, the Channel Islands and potentially overseas. Qualifications: Ornithological and/ or other ecological survey experience. Experienced in field work, enjoy working outdoors, with an ambition to learn new skills. Willingness to travel and undertake fieldwork in the UK, Ireland, the Channel Islands and internationally. Knowledge of ecological restoration principles is advantageous. Experience with seabird conservation projects including management of invasive predatory species and biosecurity is a plus. Good report writing skills, displaying high standards with attention to detail and ability to write accurately and concisely. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Excellent communication skills. Knowledge of wildlife legislation including planning processes is desirable. Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, Applied Biology or related field. Gained or are working towards membership of CIEEM, IEMA or equivalent Full clean driving license.
