Title: Sustainability Manager – UK & EMEA

Reports to: Managing Director UK & EMEA

Purpose of the Role:

To drive a comprehensive sustainability transformation program across Armstrong Fluid Technology's UK, Middle East, and European (EMEA) business, embedding the Planet Proposition (PP) at the core of our operations and supporting the establishment of Armstrong as a leader in sustainable building solutions.

The role will have accountability for providing integrated support to all services in driving sustainability across our portfolio, planning and implementing initiatives across EMEA regions while working closely with local and regional leads. This role will be focusing equally on delivering sustainability projects and supporting the sales teams achieve their targets.

Responsibilities:

  • Implementation of the global suitability strategy, objectives and tactical requirements in all areas of sustainability within UK & EMEA regions
  • Lead on compiling the data for the monthly A3 Plans.
  • Establish, facilitate and lead on the monthly UK & EMEA PP meetings.
  • Champion campaigns in partnership with the local and regional teams to promote engagement within the area of sustainability
  • Ensure actions from the monthly UK PP meetings are expediently completed.
  • Deliver monthly management information report including environmental, waste and sustainability performance and financial metrics
  • Provide information for and participate in the quarterly Global PP meetings.
  • Provide information for and participate in the LDW Sustainability Reviews.
  • Share guidance on the latest trends including monitoring the guidance from the key institutions across UK & EMEA region
  • Advise on potential risks associated with emerging legislation and recommend solutions
  • Assist the global team establish an embodied carbon database, initially through TM65 forms, then LCAs and ultimately via EPDs.
  • Coordinate the planning and implementation of community projects based upon UN Sustainable Development Goals
  • Support the PP team reduce waste, in particular plastics and hazardous waste.
  • Maintain and annually update the Sustainability Questionnaire FAQ document.
  • Assist Finance in placing annual energy contracts with a focus on sustainability.
  • Support the sales organization embrace sustainability and use it as a lever to increase sales.
  • Manage annual SECR data (ClearVUE automation).
  • Ensure the information provided by the ClearVUE energy and carbon reporting platform, both in real time and in their monthly reports, is acted upon.
  • Assist the marketing team in providing regular sustainability updates for social media, case studies, and webinars
  • Support the sales team in achieving the sales sustainability targets
  • Working with sales teams and customers on sustainability targets and products
  • Become the ‘go-to’ person on sustainability for the EMEA managing director and the country leadership teams.

Key Deliverables:

  • Increased integration of the PP into Armstrong EMEA's business strategy.
  • Reduced environmental footprint across Armstrong EMEA operations.
  • Development and implementation of a 2030 Net Zero Buildings roadmap.
  • Increased sales through the effective use of sustainability initiatives.
  • Improved stakeholder engagement on sustainability.
  • Timely and accurate reporting of sustainability data.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as environmental science, engineering, or business sustainability.
  • Significant experience within sustainability field and supporting sales teams ideally across the HVAC sector.
  • In-depth understanding of environmental regulations and reporting frameworks like SECR and GRI.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and project management skills.

Data analysis and interpretation skills.

Customer and qualify focused: highly effective at building and improving customer relationships

Excellent organisational and time management skills, ability to plan and deliver objectives within an agreed timeframe

  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations while carrying out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel at the Intermediate-Advanced level
  • Ability to attain the PMP credential within three years or any related credential (LEED AP/ BREEAM AP, Certified Energy Manager, LCA Certified Professional)
