Lead Designer 3D

We are looking for a Lead Structural Designer to join nexos on a permanent basis in Aberdeen. You will play a key role in ensuring technical quality of structural draughting activities is maintained within budget and schedule. Accountable for estimating, coordinating the preparation of design deliverables, managing delivery and maintaining technical excellence for your assigned team/project portfolio. Your regular duties will include: Supporting Business Management System (BMS) development and being responsible for improvement of department working practices, systems, and team efficiency. Supporting development and competency of subordinates. Maintaining required technical quality of work, in accordance with originating, checking and approval procedures. Supervising and providing support to structural designers. Producing, checking and approving structural deliverables in accordance with industry standards, codes and client specifications. Undertaking offshore surveys and creating survey reports. Assisting in the preparation of CTR estimates. Providing technical input during detailed engineering of projects, if requested. Establishing good working relationships and communication with designers, other discipline leads, department managers and clients. Monitoring and maintaining project plans and provide regular progress updates for assigned scopes To be successful in this role, you should be able to demonstrate: Extensive experience in the Oil & Gas/Petrochemical industry and ONC in engineering (or equivalent) or HNC in Mechanical Engineering. Demonstrable competence in the use of AutoCAD 2D & 3D and ReCap software. Good working knowledge of industry codes and standards. Experience of leading a team.
