Assistant Accountant

Artemis Human Capital is working in exclusive partnership with this leading NI business to help them hire a talented Accounting professional to take on a newly created role with the company. Reporting to the FC, you will manage all day to day transactions and support Month end processes, as well as preparing Monthly Management Accounts. As part of a small, dynamic Accounting function alongside owning a lot of the Accounting duties, you will gain exposure to the wider running of a commercial business and get involved in ad hoc projects and business administration. Daily duties: Recording financial transactions: Including sales, purchases, receipts, and payments. Identify and create journals for accounting adjustments, accruals and prepayments Managing accounts receivable and accounts payable: Managing the process of invoicing customers, tracking payments, and following up on any outstanding payments. Reconciling accounts: Regularly reconciling bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial records to ensure accuracy and identify any discrepancies. Prepare VAT returns Prepare monthly analytical schedules as required to support monthly management reporting Provide challenge to the status-quo, identify and deliver process improvements Preparation of Management Accounts Support Head of Finance with any ad hoc queries and projects.
