General Manager - Traffic TechnologyNeath (hybrid considered)Traffic Technology is one of four pillars within Marston along with Transportation, Consultancy and Enforcement. The Technology division provides IT solutions across two brands, Videalert and Vortex, where we provide ANPR enforcement and air quality monitoring solutions.Due to incredible business growth, we are recruiting for a General Manager of Traffic Technology to join us at an integral point in the Group’s journey.Reporting to the Managing Director of Technology, you will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team and the entire Traffic Technology team, delivering and shaping the technological vision and strategy of Marston’s Traffic Technology division. You will lead and manage the team that will then develop and implement these cutting-edge solutions.You will need to develop highly motivated, committed, and enthusiastic teams for design, build and implementation of both Videalert and Vortex systems. Through your leadership and management you will help support the business to achieve its financial objectives whilst maintaining high-quality service across all areas.This role will require regular travel to Marston sites and client offices across the UK, as well as professional association dinners, conferences and seminars.What you will be doing:• Leading and managing the entire technology development, operations and field services teams, responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day operations• Maintain oversight of technical departments across Mechanical Design, Production, Electronics and Embedded Engineering, Hosted Systems and Infrastructure, QA and Compliance, Software and Data Analysis• Ensuring efficient resource allocation and budget management for technology initiatives, thereby contributing to cost-effective growth strategies• Planning procurement activity to align with business plans with market lead times and controlling expenditure• Providing meaningful KPI reports and regular business updates• Achieving budgeted delivery targets• Utilising experience and data insights to effectively deliver all technical delivery requirements• Optimising financial performance through effective cost management, resource allocation, and cash flow optimisationWhat we are looking for:• Proven experience as a General Manager, CTO, COO, Managing Director, Technical Operations Director or equivalent senior leadership role• Demonstrated success in leading multidisciplinary technology teams, with a track record of delivering complex, high-quality products on time and within budget• Expertise/strong awareness and ability to recruit in electronics, embedded and mechanical engineering, software architecture and development, AI and data analysis• Proficiency in project management, planning, prioritisation, budgeting, and resourcing• Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical and engage with diverse stakeholders• Strong commercial awareness of revenue generation and full P&L management• A strong leader who is able to put the good of the business first with the ability to take responsibility for all aspects of the business• A good communicator who can confidently articulate the goals of the division and the Group• Ability to identify, design and deliver initiatives to improve efficiency• Knowledge of software, hardware or professional services delivery to clients• Delivery of technical solutions to high profile customers• Experience working in cross-functional teams and managing interdisciplinary projects• Expertise in cybersecurity, data management, and technology governanceWhat’s in it for you:• Competitive salary• £6,000 car allowance• Enhanced Maternity and Paternity Package NB subject to eligibility criteria• 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays• Enhanced Health Cash Plan• Staff benefits designed to suit you, from discounts on high street and online shopping to travel, socialising and wellbeingIf this sounds like the job for you, please apply and a member of our recruitment team will be in touch.New starters will be subject to clearance through the Disclosure and Barring Service and a County Court Judgment check.
