SEN Teaching Assistant

At Teach Now, we are looking for an enthusiastic individual to work in Hackney! As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be making a real impact in the life of a child in a beautiful primary school in Hackney. You will be providing one-to-one support to a child with special educational needs, helping them to learn and develop to their full potential. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to providing high-quality learning experiences for children, as well as a passion for inclusion and equality. You must be willing to work full-time hours, Monday to Friday from 08:30 until 15:30. Previous experience working with children with special educational needs is a must. In this role, you will be responsible for providing support to the child in all areas of their learning, including literacy, numeracy, and social and emotional development. You will be required to plan and deliver individualised learning programmes and activities, as well as provide additional support in group activities. You will also be responsible for observing and recording the child's progress, and liaising with other members of staff and outside professionals when necessary. To be considered for this position, you must have a good working knowledge of SEN and the current legislation and guidance, and be able to demonstrate a commitment to inclusion and equality. You must be a confident communicator, with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, and be able to remain calm and professional in stressful situations. You must also have the ability to use your own initiative, be able to work independently, and be comfortable working with a range of different people.
