Non-Executive Director (NED) Join Phorest as a Non-Executive Director – Help Us Revolutionise Industrial Process Monitoring Are you passionate about quality assurance and innovation? Do you have experience in bringing cutting-edge technology to market? Phorest, an exciting spin-out from the University of York, is looking for a dynamic and well-connected Non-Executive Director to help us commercialise a breakthrough sensor technology designed to detect bacterial contamination in the supply chain. Who We Are At Phorest, we have developed an in-line optical sensor that operates as an early warning system for bacterial contamination, offering significant potential to improve quality control within industrial applications and supply chains. As we scale up and enter new markets, we are looking for a Non-Executive Director to bring industry insights and open doors for new opportunities. The Role As a Non-Executive Director, you will play a crucial role in guiding Phorest’s strategic direction and helping us unlock new opportunities. The purpose of the NED is to support the founding team to develop a clear commercial business plan, support commercialisation of the sensor technology and secure commercial partnerships and agreements with instrument manufacturers, investors and customers. Your key responsibilities will include: Providing strategic oversight on our commercialisation efforts. Leveraging your network to introduce new partners and applications. Offering advice and mentorship to the CEO and executive team. Ensuring robust governance and sound decision-making at board level. Who are we looking for? We’re seeking a leader with deep experience in industrial instrumentation, automation or process control in the chemical industry or related sectors, ideally with a track record of commercialising products or technology. You’ll also have a network of industry contacts who could be invaluable in driving growth and finding new markets for our sensor. Previous NED experience is a plus, but senior leaders looking to take their first step into a NED role are also encouraged to apply. Why Join Us?
