Quality Engineer

Job Title: Quality Engineer Location: Broughton Astley Reporting To: Quality Manager Salary: £40,000 Working Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (1 Hour Lunch) Holidays: 20 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays Objective: The Quality Engineer will support the Quality Manager and Quality Inspector in ensuring the company meets its quality assurance (QA) objectives. This role is critical in driving continuous improvement efforts aligned with ISO 9001 standards, ensuring the receipt of quality products and delivering them accurately to customers. The position involves direct interaction with both suppliers and customers, as well as cross-functional collaboration within the company. Key Responsibilities: * Collaborate with the Quality Manager to maintain and improve quality assurance processes within an ISO 9001 framework. * Ensure products meet quality standards and are delivered to customers with zero defects. * Engage with suppliers and customers to resolve quality concerns and implement corrective actions. * Conduct internal audits, contributing to ISO 9001 compliance and customer audit processes. * Work interdepartmentally to promote quality improvement initiatives. Key Requirements: * Experience in an ISO 9001 approved manufacturing environment; experience with ISO/TS 16949 is preferred. * Previous experience with threaded fasteners is an advantage. * Strong understanding of process capability (Cp, Cpk) and core quality tools (SPC, PPAP, MSA, FMEA). * Ability to apply quality tools for resolving quality issues and driving improvement. * Qualification and hands-on experience in internal auditing. * Proficiency in using basic measuring equipment such as micrometers, electronic calipers, shadowgraphs, and thread ring/plug gauges. * Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word. * Competence in data analysis and interpretation. * Experience in liaising with both customers and suppliers regarding quality matters
