Balfour Beatty VINCI is working with a range of organisations to design and build 90km West Midlands stretch of HS2 - Britain’s new high speed railway. Our work is essential to enable HS2 trains to travel between London and Birmingham as well as continue their journey up to Manchester. It’s an incredibly exciting time to join us - we’re at peak construction with work really ramping up on a broad range of assets including bridges, tunnels and viaducts. Plus you’d join 9,000 people across 72 nationalities working on this exciting section of HS2 across the region. We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Continuous Improvement Lead within the Innovation and Transformation Team. This role will be based on site in Coleshill/ Fort Dunlop. Role Responsibilities To drive CI initiatives across the project and play a pivotal role in nurturing a culture of continuous improvement, identifying operational inefficiencies, and implementing strategic initiatives to enhance overall performance. Being proactive and using a standardised approach to continuous improvement across the project while embedding a culture of Lean methodologies to support the fundamental strategy for delivery. Leading multiple, complex CI projects using the DMAIC methodology and drive the use of CI best practice across sublots and the overall project. Supporting the on-going management of My Contribution, which is the BBV suggestion scheme, and strive to deliver a strategy, engage staff, and implement projects. Working closely with sublots and our Supply Chain Family to deliver projects using Lean methodologies, continuous improvement, and innovations, in line with our annual Lean Maturity Assessment. Experienced required Passionate about continuous improvement, seeking an opportunity to grow and demonstrate skills and experience in business transformation and innovation. Knowledge and demonstrable experience in root cause analysis, project management and delivering CI projects. An excellent understanding and experience of using Lean techniques with the confidence to train and coach colleagues to enhance their knowledge. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, carefully managing responsibilities and interdependencies. Good facilitation skills. Able to confidently drive change, engage, influence, and motivate people to support continuous improvement initiatives. Knowledge and understanding of producing and presenting business cases with clear benefits (monetary and non-monetary) Knowledge and demonstrable experience in Value Stream Mapping. Be able to confidently deliver Lean/CI workshops and training. Knowledge and demonstrable experience in Short Interval Control (SIC). Confident with the use of digital technology. Effective stakeholder management skills. Please note candidates will need to have a current valid right to work in the UK to be considered for this role. We started working together over 30 years ago to deliver the Channel Tunnel, as members of the TransManche Link consortium. In the Midlands, it is Balfour Beatty VINCI’s role to design and build the route, ready for tracks and signalling to be installed. Our work with HS2 Balfour Beatty VINCI have been awarded a 90km section of the HS2 project from Long Itchington in Warwickshire to the centre of Birmingham and then on to Handsacre in Staffordshire.
