Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant - Secondary Resource Provision Location: Huddersfield Job Type: Temporary, Full-Time hours Primary Industry: Education and Training Job Duties: Provide support to students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) within a Secondary Resource Provision Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with SEND Support the classroom teacher in creating a positive learning environment Help students with their academic and personal development Assist with classroom management and behaviour support Work collaboratively with other staff members and external professionals Required Qualifications: Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification Experience working with students with SEND Education: Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or 3) Experience: Previous experience working with students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Knowledge and Skills: Understanding of SEND and relevant support strategies Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively in a team Good organisational skills BSL Level 2 or above  PECS or MAKATON  Preferred Qualifications: First Aid training Mental Health First Aid qualification Working Conditions: Working in a school environment Full-time hours Potential involvement in extracurricular activities Collaborative work with teachers and other support staff
