Site Engineer
A regional house builder have a requirement for a Site Engineer to be the liaison between the Technical Department and the site teams on housing developments.
About the role - Site Engineer
The Site Engineer will supervise site activities for the technical department and report back any issues that may become apparent. The Site Engineer will use their experience and expertise to assist the technical department in all stages of the development life cycle from concept to adoption.
Site Engineer duties & responsibilities:
- Advise the Technical, Land & Planning department on the technical viability of new sites.
- Review Architect/Engineer/Services/Sub-Contractor drawings to ensure co-ordination and integration.
- Acting as the main Technical Advisor, direct and supervise day to day operations of sub-contractors when required, resolving any technical issues that may arise.
- Ensure all drawings and information relating to your area of work are accurate and up to date.
- Check plans, drawings and quantities for accuracy of calculations.
- Endeavour to spot and highlight value engineering opportunities.
- Ensure accurate setting out and levelling of the works in accordance with drawings/ specifications. This may be through supervision and checking or carrying out the activity direct.
- Develop good working relationships with site workforce and 3rd party technical Representatives.
- Provide technical advice as a subject matter expert.
- Liaise with Highway and Sewer Inspectors along with Statutory Authority officials to secure the adoption of all site infrastructure.
- Work with external consultants and managers in both Local Authorities and Statutory Bodies.
- Comply with responsibilities as laid down in the Group's Health, Safety and Environment Policy.
Experience required for the Site Engineer
- Strong technical and engineering expertise.
- Capabilities for managing projects.
- Problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to communicate and lead effectively.
- Understanding construction regulations and safety standards.
- Skilled in working collaboratively with teams and contractors.
