The opportunityThis position’s core responsibility will be to work with and support the Compliance & ESG Manager in ensuring the adherence with relevant regulatory and internal compliance obligations related to ASE’s business.The position combines work in three areas:i. Regulatory compliance related to physical power generation;ii. Compliance related to corporate and internal policies;iii. ESGThe Compliance and ESG Associate will work closely with a number of business functions including Project Development, Construction and Operations teams, Commercial functions, IT and HR.The role will suit someone with an understanding and some experience in Compliance & ESG, seeking to expand their knowledge and responsibility within the environment of a young, growing renewable energy company. This is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly expanding company, and to play a key role in developing and implementing ASE’s Compliance & ESG framework.Job responsibilities:ComplianceResponding to regulatory body requirements related to PV and battery projects in UK, the Netherlands and Germany (Ofgem, DCUSA, ELEXON, ACER and other)Preparing and submitting applications, statements, compliance reports and responses to queries. Example areas of focus include generation licenses, metering dispensation, capacity markets, transmission/distribution charges etc.Monitoring and reporting against project finance bank contractual obligations, third-party Codes of Conducts and other contractual obligations.: e.g., environmental requirements, DNV Equator principle compliance, other defined ESG contractual obligations.EMIR reporting for derivative transactions. REMIT reporting for physical transactions.Completing KYC on AMPYR Solar Europe for project financing, bank opening, advisors (tax, legal etc) and KYC by AMPYR Solar Europe on counterparties. Responding to corporate structure queries in relation to KYC and other.Working closely with colleagues and external stakeholders to complete audits and tasks on corporate compliance areas, such as GDPR, anti-money laundering, whistleblowing etc.Completing Company filings, Board resolutions, Direct Inform and Companies House updates.Assisting in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of compliance policies, procedures, and controls.Assisting with ad hoc requests including those related to due diligence and other compliance work as required.ESGWorking closely with the Compliance & ESG Manager for the development of the company’s ESG framework and policies.Leading data collection efforts in preparation of Impact Report developmentSupporting overall Impact Report preparation and publication.Other ad hoc ESG work as requiredRequirements:3-5 years of experience in corporate compliance requirements such as GDPR, KYC, financial crime.Experience monitoring and reporting against internal company policies and procedures.Basic experience in ESG principles (from work or academia) and interest to develop in this areaBasic understanding / knowledge /experience of regulatory requirements in power markets, particularly UK. Exposure to German and Dutch (or European) markets will be considered a plus.Fluency in spoken and written English. Knowledge of German or Dutch will be considered a plus.Good team worker but also able to work independently.
