On behalf of Defra, we are looking for an Assistant Surveyor (Inside IR35) for 6 months that can be extended to 12 months contract based in Newcastle. Assistant Surveyor Responsibilities * Travel nationwide as and when needed to meet landlords/tenants/operational staff. * Take full day to day estate responsibilities for your allocated portfolio. * Deliver property transactions within your portfolio * Support the Principal Corporate Property Surveyors * Managing a defined property portfolio * Delivering property advice, guidance, and transactions in support of the property strategy and good estate management. * Providing advice and professional support to the Defra Group businesses Assistant Surveyor Essential Requirements: * Attend the office in Newcastle 3 days per week on average over 4 week period. * A Full UK Driving Licence (Less than 3 penalty points): Working on a national basis, some sites are not accessible by public transport, you will have rented cars from Enterprise. * Hold significant estate management experience. * Competence and experience in commercial property and tenant/landlord matters on a transactional level. * Able to communicate to external consultants. * Legislation knowledge * Knowledge of how leases work * Knowledge on how to conduct a transaction.
