Planning Assistant - Renewable Energy

Our client are a well-established developer of utility scale solar farms and energy systems. The types of projects that they work on include renewable energy and residential projects such as large-scale battery projects. Due to company growth, our client is looking to bring in a Planning Assistant from a renewable energy background, to join their team full time in the office. You will be responsible for supporting the management and coordination of Energy Storage System projects through the planning process. Planning Assistant - Renewable Energy What's in it for you? Monday to Friday in the office (09:00am - 5:30pm). Salary - £40,000 - £50,000. 25 days holiday + Bank Holidays. Bonus scheme.Planning Assistant - Renewable Energy Position Overview Support decision-making on site selection and planning applications. Help prepare planning appraisals for potential energy storage sites. Participate in Site Review Meetings and planning strategy development. Assist in submitting planning applications, coordinating external consultants, and reviewing deliverables. Identify key stakeholders and relevant planning policies for each project. Oversee and monitor the planning process through to determination. Provide planning advice to internal and external stakeholders. Support the land team with planning policy guidance when needed.Planning Assistant - Renewable Energy Position Requirements Good understanding of the UK planning process and planning constraints. Bachelor's degree or relevant qualification and previous experience in renewables would be advantageous but not essential. Proficient IT skills. Experience and knowledge of planning law, regulation and policy in the UK. Great communication and organisational skills.
