Join us and be part of making a valuable contribution to the mega-infrastructure, Nuclear New Build project at Hinkley Point C (HPC).Job Role RequirementsIdentification of RisksUsing the 3D model, calculation methodologies and fire requirements issued by the architect engineer or the client:Analysing the 3D model and identification of the various combustible materials present in each areaPerforming temperature change calculations over time for a simulated fire (modelling of various situations using the MAGIC software)Assessing the risk of damage to certain systems (functional redundancy)Monitoring and including in the models the changes issued by all the engineering teams (change of positioning of cable trays, electrical cabinets, ventilation ducts, etc.)Fire ProtectionRecommending protection solutions to prevent an outbreak of fire or to make it improbableDividing all buildings into zones for fire protection purposes.Recommending fire detection and firefighting methods for the quickest possible detection and response.Performing fire protection calculations using specific software.Assessing and providing justifications for departures from BS9999Qualifications, Knowledge & Key SkillsQualification to degree level or equivalent specializing in safety and/or fire protection technologiesKnowledge of ETC-F (EPR technical code for fire)Knowledge of and experience with UK Fire Regulations including BS9999Calculations relating to fire protection and ability to work with calculation tools Ability to propose fire protection and detection solutionsSoftware knowledge: Microsoft office (word, excel, powerpoint, outlook), MAGIC software, 3D viewer (Naviswork,)BenefitsHybrid workingPrivate medical & dental insurance25 days annual leave plus bank holidaysMatched Pension schemeCycle to work schemeTraining and developmentEmployee referral schemeEnhanced company sick payEnhanced maternity and paternity payTravel & Life InsuranceEmployee assistance programDue to the nature of the work, candidates will be required to undergo a Basic Security clearance (BPSS).
