3.5t Driver/Warehouse Operative (Dual task role)

Job Title: Van/Warehouse Operative (Dual Role – Reach FLT & Delivery Driver) Job Type: Temp to Perm Hours: 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday, Evening shift cover when required 2:00 PM - 11:00 PM) Job Overview: We are seeking a hardworking and versatile Van/Warehouse Operative to join our Client's team. This is a dual-role position where you will be responsible for both warehouse operations, including using a Reach Forklift Truck (FLT), and delivering metal sheets to customers using a 3.5-tonne vehicle. The role may require covering evening shifts (2:00 PM to 11:00 PM). This is a temp to perm opportunity for the right candidate. Key Responsibilities: Warehouse Duties: * Operate a Reach Forklift Truck (FLT) to load, unload, and move materials within the warehouse. * Accurately pick, pack, and store metal sheets and other materials in designated warehouse locations. * Perform general warehouse duties including maintaining a clean and organized workspace. * Safely handle and lift heavy materials, with some manual heavy lifting required. Delivery Driver Duties: * Safely load and secure metal sheets onto a 3.5-tonne vehicle for delivery. * Deliver metal sheets to customers in a timely and professional manner, ensuring a high level of customer service. * Maintain and inspect the delivery vehicle, reporting any issues or defects. * Complete delivery paperwork and ensure customer signatures are obtained as proof of delivery. * Adhere to all traffic and delivery regulations to ensure safe and efficient operations. Skills & Experience Required: * Valid Reach FLT License is preferred, but FLT training can be provided for the right candidate with relevant warehouse experience. * Clean and valid UK driving licence for driving a 3.5-tonne vehicle. * Experience in both warehouse operations and multi-drop delivery driving is highly desirable. * Ability to safely handle and lift heavy materials (metal sheets). * Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. * Excellent customer service and communication skills. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Flexibility to cover evening shifts (2:00 PM - 11:00 PM) when required. Additional Requirements: * Previous experience delivering metal or similar materials is advantageous but not essential. * Basic understanding of warehouse health & safety practices
