QA Automation Lead

QA Automation Lead Working under the Head of QA you will take ownership for the Automation function, from the technical direction to the team management (team of 4). As a business there is a big push on continuous improvement, with the Head of QA driving excellence as well as a fantastic appreciation for QA across the Software division. Your role will be a assess the current automation frameworks, processes and best practices and suggest improvements and next steps in its maturity You will have strength in test strategy, with the ability to demonstrate your commercial nous during interview. You will be an ideas person, proactively seeking improvements and driving the team forwards, as well as looking at where automation can be implemented earlier in the SDLC. You will therefore need a strong technical understanding on Automation – coding standards and best practice. There will be a move to Service Contract testing, so this role presents a fantastic opportunity to help steer this (as well as gain the experience). The technical environment is currently Playwright framework, written in Typescript – so good experience in writing JavaScript will be required. Front end tests are in Gherkin format and API tests are written in Playwright (Typescript) as well. If you have experience in automated mobile testing (Appium etc) this would be a benefit too. The software is written in PHP . You will be a great fit if you enjoy exploring the latest trends in Test Automation, are open to a wide variety of tooling and are constantly seeking to improve best practices and approach.
