1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant required for an Ealing-based Primary SchoolAre you a Speech and Language Therapy Graduate looking to make a meaningful impact in a school setting?A well-regarded Primary School in Ealing is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support to a student who is deaf. This role is ideal for a Speech and Language Therapist with a passion for helping children overcome communication barriers and succeed academically and socially.As a SEND Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:Providing personalised 1:1 support to a student who is deaf, assisting them in accessing the curriculum and participating fully in classroom activities.Implementing tailored communication strategies, including the use of sign language or other relevant tools, to facilitate effective learning and interaction.Collaborating closely with teachers, the SEN team, and external professionals to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) that meet the student's specific needs.Monitoring the student's progress, adapting support strategies as necessary, and ensuring their well-being and inclusion within the school community.Supporting the development of the student's social, emotional, and academic skills, fostering their confidence and independence.The ideal candidate will have:A background in Speech and Language Therapy or relevant experience working with children who are deaf or have hearing impairments.Proficiency in sign language (desirable but not essential).Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with the student and collaborate effectively with staff and parents.Patience, empathy, and a commitment to helping the student achieve their full potential.If you are interested in applying for this role, please send your CV.
