Lapping Technician

Position : Lapping Technician Salary: Between £13 to £18 per hour, depending on experience, plus overtime at time and a half plus benefits Hours: Monday to Thursday 7am till 4pm and Friday 6am till 1pm Location: Commutable from Camberley, Bracknell, Farnborough, Farnham, Guildford, Aldershot and surrounding areas Company An established and growing manufacturing company who precision machined parts and solutions to various industries, mainly Aerospace and Defence, are on the lookout for a Lapping Technician. Responsibilities The role will be to work as part of a team to produce precision spec components for clients in the aerospace and automotive industry, working alongside different departments to support production flow throughout the unit. Responsible to set up and perform necessary lapping ops on inside and/or outside diameters of various precision parts using various measuring equipment; Provide assistance to all areas in the team when required (including lapping, polishing, straightening, deburring, part marking and cleaning of components) Cleaning of components prior to inspection; Ensure machines are operated according to site and manufacturers recommendations; Meet desired quantities, conducting in-process inspection and checking against drawings and specifications to ensure they are made accurately and to the highest standards; Requirements Experience in engineering and working in a similar field/industry would be beneficial. (training will be given) along with the ability to use a range of measuring equipment. Good verbal and written communication skills Have excellent attention to detail.
