Insurance Officer/Executive Assistant

Hays are working with a prestigious organisation in Shropshire who are looking to recruit a temporary Insurance Officer/EA. This is an exciting and varied role with a lot of opportunity for progression.
Your new role

  • This is a varied role that would involve managing the day to day insurance matters as well as providing high level executive assistance to Senior Management Team.
  • To take responsibility for all insurance matters including claims management, changes of insurance cover, collating renewal information and managing external insurance on-line data.
  • Executive Assistant for Chief Finance Officer, Deputy CFO and Director of Business Development & Knowledge Exchange including coordination of Committee papers and monitoring and submission of regulatory returns and minute taking for operational groups as required.
  • To provide assistance to the Head of Procurement including preparation of tenders , preparing and publishing contract notices and management of procurement exceptions, preparation of procurement KPI's and associated data.
  • Managing the new supplier process and maintaining contract register to assist with procurement planning.
  • Act as the first point of contact for the insurance brokers and underwriters, where pertinent, including communications about claims, clarification of covers, and to seek general and specific advice.
  • The management of the insurance portfolio on a day-to-day basis ensuring the effective management of all insurance claims. including recording, preparing and providing information and defence arguments, consulting stakeholders (directly and indirectly affected), and liaison with insurers, solicitors and loss adjustors as required.
  • Maintain information on insurance claims and other activities, providing analysis of data and periodically report on claims, trends, risks, etc., including actions taken (if any) or recommended to mitigate.
  • Take responsibility for maintaining all relevant databases for insurance matters (Motor Insurance, Licence Summaries, Property, Contents and Engineering Insurance etc.) ensuring they are up-to-date and accurate.
  • Arranging and attending meetings as required with Insurers/Brokers etc.
  • Management and co-ordination of the insurance renewal process validating through enquiry insurance registers, and activity logs and also issue of Insurance Certificates at renewal for display and otherwise required.
