Citizens Advice Sandwell & Walsall seek new Trustees to join our team. Can you help us change lives? We are looking for volunteers to join our board of trustees to help lead the charity and support the management team in developing our services and securing the vital resources we need to meet demand. This year at the National Citizens Advice Conference, Citizens Advice Sandwell and Walsall were proud to accept an award for Team of the Year for our Care Leavers Project. This project was selected from 130 entries and is a fantastic achievement which shows hard work and dedication to our community. 81% of our people recommend us as a great place to work. Citizens Advice has been running in Sandwell & Walsall for 75 years. Citizens Advice Walsall was founded in 1939 and one of the first in the UK, originally to help people recover from the war. What do you need to have? We are seeking trustees to use their knowledge and experience in order to help build on our vision and success. Trustees volunteer their skills to guide and govern our organisation. Were welcoming individuals with relevant professional or life experience. You dont need specific qualifications or skills but youll need to: Understand and accept the responsibilities and liabilities as trustees Be non-judgmental and respect views, values and cultures that are different to your own Have good listening, verbal and written communication skills Be able to exercise good independent judgment Have good numeracy skills to understand accounts with the support of the treasurer Be willing to learn about and follow the Citizens Advice aims, principles and policies, including confidentiality and data protection Be willing to undertake training in your role CAS&W value inclusion and promote diverse recruiting. Our volunteers come from a range of backgrounds and we particularly welcome applications from disabled people, people with physical or mental health conditions, LGBT+ and non-binary people, and people from Black Asian Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities.
