Job Description

I’m recruiting on behalf of my client, an IT Solutions firm based in Birmingham for an IT Support Engineer to join their technical team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep technical knowledge of various IT systems and technologies, including Windows desktop and server environments, Office 365 administration, Active Directory, Azure cloud services, Network Troubleshooting, Telephony systems.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1st and 2nd line technical support to clients, troubleshooting and resolving issues related to Windows desktop and server environments.
  • Administer Office 365 environments, including user management, email configurations, and security settings.
  • Deploy and manage Azure cloud services, assisting clients with migrations, implementations, and optimisations.
  • Support and maintain telephony systems, assisting clients with configuration, troubleshooting, and upgrades.
  • Collaborate with the first-line support team to escalate and resolve complex technical issues in a timely manner.
  • Document and maintain accurate records of technical configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Assist with project implementations, including system upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure deployments.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices, continuously expanding technical knowledge and skills.


Skills required:

  • A proven track record in Managed Service Provider (MSP) / IT Solutions environment.
  • Proficiency in Windows desktop and server operating systems, including Active Directory and Group Policy management.
  • Strong understanding of Office 365 administration, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Teams.
  • Knowledge of Azure cloud services, including virtual machines, storage, networking, and security.
  • Experience with telephony systems, including installation, configuration, and support.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients and colleagues.
