Establish systems for monitoring, reviewing, improving, and reporting on the quality of the practice learning environment and the usage of placements, instigate new developments and initiatives for promoting inter- professional learning opportunities for students in the practice setting. Provide support to practice supervisors and assessors and maintain a live register of current supervisors and assessors in line with requirements of the NMC Standards for student supervision and assessment (SSSA), promote and implement initiatives aimed at developing and enhancing the quality of students practice experience. To work innovatively cross-organisation as required to develop placements inclusive of UTC and Primary Care Promote quality assurance of the learning environment, ensuring compliance with educational audit, monitoring and action planning constructive evaluation feedback from learners and any concerns raised. Function as primary point of contact for support of students and their educators in resolving placement related issues, promoting tri-partite communication with HEIs as required. Work with Clinical/Operational Directors and 0-19/organisation teams, to develop and facilitate improvements in educational and competency standards and quality of care across the organisation. To actively collaborate with clinical teams and system partners to plan and facilitate learning experiences to meet the educational needs of those seeking work placements, returning to practice, undertaking apprenticeships and pre-registration programmes and international staff transitioning to work within the organisation. To plan, implement and evaluate training and development programmes within nursing to support the learning strategy for pre-registration education standards. To take the lead for preceptorship and Induction, actively participating in the planning, delivery and evaluation of preceptorship and induction, ensuring alignment to the frameworks with key partners. To collate data returns as required in accordance with the NHS Education Contract, including the quarterly student data collection tool to confirm actual placement numbers and quality assurance monitoring.Ensuring the Provision of Practice Opportunities Work in partnership with the HEI and strategic NHS London to develop, manage and negotiate placements within the organisation and beyond the organisational boundaries for the Pre-registration Nursing students. Support, develop and implement an organisational-wide strategy for students attending clinical placements. Function as the Placement link for the HEI and take responsibility for ensuring that appropriate quality placements are provided by the organisation to meet their commissioned numbers. Work in conjunction with the HEI Placement Teams to strategically plan the allocation of students on an annual basis. Work collaboratively with the GP Care Group staff and HEI to implement processes for managing the quality and mentoring capabilities of practice experience placements. Work in partnership with the HEI to map placement requirements against availability and identify shortfalls, i.e., identify the numbers of placements available within the GP Care Group and map the future requirements for placements against available capacity. Take responsibly for addressing local placement issues ensuring that students commissioned for the organisation are appropriately allocated. Keep HEI informed about changes and developments relating to placements. Support and assist the HEI Placement Officers in identifying and booking appropriate placements within the organisation. Develop and maintain communication systems to enhance placement management processes within the organisation. In collaboration with the HEI work in a responsive way to trust needs for pre-registration student nurse support.Promote the Host Trust concept. Liaise with universities to keep abreast of any changes within the curriculum. Further strengthen the partnership between the Universities and the Organisation Promote and develop liaison links with HEIs and the other organisations/Trusts/ within the sector. Attend the sector placement facilitators group to share and exchange information as well as contribute towards the development of quality enhancements. Contribute towards the development of sector standards for the practice learning environment and allocation of students. Work collaboratively with HEI Link/ Lecturers/Practice Assessors/Supervisors to feedback and develop local action plans.
