About the company My client is a multi disciplined civil engineering and utility contractor based in the North West of England. They have offices in Leeds and Manchester and are a family owned business that has been trading for over 150 years. About the role This is a brilliant opportunity for somebody who is looking for a role that can offer reasonability, stability, and the opportunity to have a real say in the health and safety team. This role has come about due to strategic growth, due to expansion they are now looking for a middle management team and this can progress into a head of health & safety in the long term, there is brilliant long-term progression. Within this role, you will be reporting to the Compliance Director and working very closely with the Operations Director, both Directors are approachable individuals, switched on, and easy to work with. They already have their ISO9001, ISO14001, and ISO45001 so you will need to maintain this but you will also need to apply a new culture change, they aren’t just trying to tick boxes with their Health & Safety, they are looking for someone to improve it and bring real change to the company, this is an exciting opportunity to develop health & safety the way you want it to look. The projects are mostly in the North West. These projects include commercial and residential sites with project values up to £5M. Works will include substations, HV/LV electric and water infrastructure, utility diversions and gas and water connections. There are also some green energy projects installing EV charging stations. Rewards and benefits You will receive a salary of between £65,000 and £75,000 depending on experience. The package will also include a car or a car allowance as well as a pension and private healthcare. About the requirements * At least 3 years experience working in Health and Safety. * To be considered for any of these positions you’ll be required to have had experience working in Civil Engineering for tier 1 or tier 2 companies with strong stability. It’s important to have worked for each of your previous companies for at least 3 years per company. * A NEBOSH general certificate is vital as is a UK driving license to help you go from one site to another if you’re required
