I am delighted to be recruiting for a prestigious organisation based in Sunderland who are looking to recruit an experienced Risk and Assurance Advisor.
Your new role
You will be required to support the Senior Management team to ensure the Organisation has effective arrangements for risk, assurance, business continuity and incident management. This role will provide risk, assurance and business continuity advice to all colleagues in the Organisation, support the development and implementation of the risk and assurance frameworks and develop and implement the arrangements for business continuity and major incident management.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Supporting the Risk and Continuity Manager and the Head of Safety, Risk and Assurance in the implementation of the Risk and Assurance Frameworks.
  • Ensuring the timely collation, production and analysis of relevant risk, assurance and business continuity information and data.
  • Supporting the Risk and Continuity Manager to develop and implement a risk and business continuity communications plan to ensure effective communication with colleagues.
  • Undertaking regular horizon scanning to keep up to date with changes in risk, assurance and business continuity, and to identify opportunities to improve risk, assurance and business continuity standards.
What you need to succeed:
  • Have an excellent understanding of risk management, assurance and business continuity methodologies, standards and approaches.
  • Excellent literacy and report writing skills.
  • Excellent IT skills including the knowledge of risk management.
  • The ability to analyse, assess and communicate risk data in a way that the organisation can understand.
  • The ability to engage and motivate others.
  • Be able to communicate effectively at all levels of the organisation.
  • Self-motivated with excellent attention to detail.
  • Previous experience of working in a business risk management environment.
  • Experience of working collaboratively across a diverse business to understand strategic and operational risks.
