The Pharmaceutical Society NI is seeking to recruit a Chief Executive. Permanent, Full-time position (secondments will be considered) Salary: £90,000 plus benefits Location: Belfast We are seeking someone highly motivated, dynamic, results driven and who has an appetite to take the organisation to the next level, someone who can deliver continued development and success. About the Pharmaceutical Society NI The Pharmaceutical Society of Northern Ireland (PSNI) is an Independent Statutory Body established by the Pharmacy and Poisons Act (Northern Ireland) 1925. It is the regulatory and professional body for pharmacists in Northern Ireland and maintains a register of over 2800 pharmacists, 140 Foundation Year Trainees and over 550 pharmacy premises. The role The Chief Executive will be responsible to Council for the effective leadership of Pharmaceutical Society (NI) and accountable for the promotion and regulation of excellent professional standards throughout the profession. The Chief Executive will deliver efficient and effective management of the Society to ensure and enhance public confidence in the Pharmaceutical Sector, and to support and develop the Pharmacist profession as key professionals within wider health care. The Chief Executive is the accountable officer of the organisation providing formal assurance on the organisations systems of financial control and adherence to legislation, best practice and good governance. Essential and Desirable Criteria for the role Essential Degree or equivalent qualification. At least 3 years recent* experience of operating at senior management level** within a regulatory environment/ membership services organisation or an organisation with a complex governance system. Experience of representing an organisation externally with a variety of different stakeholders and the capacity to influence at regional and national level. Experience of the effective and efficient management of financial resources, demonstrating strong commercial acumen and delivery of value for money. A successful track-record of delivering business change and improvement to enhance organisational performance. Excellent influencing and negotiation skills with the ability to present complex issues clearly to a wide range of internal and external audiences. Understanding of regulation and the capacity to lead within a regulatory operating environment. Valid driving licence and use of car, or access to a car for business purposes, to enable the postholder to fulfil the requirements of the role. Desirable Understanding of, or experience in, the issues affecting the Pharmaceutical sector in Northern Ireland and awareness of emerging challenges. Post graduate qualification in management/leadership *Recent is defined as within the last 8 years. **Senior management is reporting to Chief Executive or Board level on matters of strategic significance.
