Paint Plant Supervisor

Major Recruitment are working in partnership Polytec, a leading automotive manufacturer, to recruit a Paint Plant Supervisor on a permanent basis based in Telford.
As a Paint Plant Supervisor you will play a pivotal part in supporting the day to day running of the Paint Plant, providing support to the Paint Plant Manager. This will be operating on a rotating shift basis 6-2/2-10.
Key Responsibilities of a Paint Plant Supervisor:
- Lead by example, ensuring a safe & efficient working environment is maintained at all times.
- Produce components to the required quality standards to achieve customer satisfaction and maintain departmental KPI'S and targets.
- Liaise and coordinate with other departments to solve problems concerning production planning, resource, and skill allocation to achieve the production plan.
- Ensure safe working practices are maintained and standard operated procedures are adhered to with strict adherence to the process.
- Drive and motivate team members giving direction and feedback to create a high-performance culture where improvement and suggestions are embraced.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of methods and working procedures in order improve efficiency, productivity, and availability.
- Support the Paint Plant manager in the daily running of the paint plant and deputize in their absence as required.
- Communicate with the teams by visual management, team briefs, toolbox talks with focus on health & safety, performance and gathering ideas for improvement.
- Manage holidays, clocking's (TMS) absenteeism and return to work interviews along with company disciplinary procedure as required.
- Work proactively with other departments to define processes, procedure and controls which are relevant to existing and future products.
- Support the resolution of any customer concerns, implement counter measures, and maintain corrective actions to eliminate any repeat issues.
- Strict adherence to the control plan and process to ensure any external / internal auditory standards are met.
Skills required to be a successful Paint Plant Supervisor:
- Experience working in a Paint Plant
- Proven experience in a similar role - ideally Automotive Plastics Manufacturing
- Production experience including planning, inventory and stock control
- Excellent working experience and knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office packages to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook.
- SAP User experience
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to multi-task and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- KPI and target driven - flexibility required to achieve targets.
- Experienced People Manager and able to lead a team.
