Key Role Details: Position: Community Psychiatric Nurse (CPN) – Prison Setting Band: 5 Location: Manchester Contract Duration: Ongoing Schedule: Full-time (Weekdays and Weekends) Start Date: ASAP Hourly Rate: £32 A Glimpse Into Your Day as a CPN in a Prison Setting: In this vital role, you will provide essential mental health care to individuals within the prison system. Your daily responsibilities will include: Initial Assessments: Conducting comprehensive mental health assessments for new inmates to identify their needs and risks. Therapeutic Interventions: Providing individual and group therapy sessions to support inmates in managing their mental health conditions. Medication Management: Administering prescribed medications and monitoring their effects, ensuring adherence to treatment plans. Crisis Intervention: Responding to acute mental health crises, implementing de-escalation techniques, and ensuring the safety of all individuals involved. Collaboration: Working closely with prison staff and multi-disciplinary teams to ensure holistic care and support for inmates. Requirements: NMC Registration as a mental health nurse (RMN). Proven experience in mental health care, preferably in a challenging environment. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
